There
are many career opportunities within the food and beverage industry
ranging from jobs that require minimal academic ability and literacy
to those that require University qualifications.
Food
and beverage processing is an export growth industry that provides
opportunities to work both within and across various industry sectors
and supply chains.
The industry
has developed National Competency Standards for most jobs and industry
sectors with a number of traineeships and apprenticeships available
in Western Australia.
Food
processing traineeships are available in a wide variety of areas
such as wine making, dairy processing, smallgoods manufacturing,
flour milling and stockfeed milling, fruit and vegetable processing,
abattoirs, boning and slaughtering.
|
|
Training
in the food and beverage industry includes on-the-job training,
specialist courses, accredited training (TAFE, etc.), degree level
training and post graduate training.
Please

The food
and beverage industry is made up of some 24 sectors. . These are
derived from the ANZSIC Codes that provide pathways to an endless
array of career directions and opportunities within each sector.
Subcommittees of the council have been assembled to provide representation
for the sectors. There are 14 subcommittees called Industry
Reference Groups (IRGs),
